It's the beginning of 2018 and I'm only now reflecting on the previous year. I'm writing this on a Monday (a Monday!) at 2pm (2pm!) yes I have strange working hours - this is what I consider my rest period as a usual day starts between 6-7am and finishes at 8pm.
It's raining outside and I've changed from my work gear of leggings and layers of jumpers to my indoor leggings and only one jumper! I'm sitting on the sofa with a finished cup of tea (time to make a new brew) and reflecting on the last few months.
I hate wishing the time away - even when I'm looking forward to something I try not to wish it would come sooner. Time goes too quickly as it is! This year has definitely been a year of growth - not so much physically but mentally.
In fact, just the last 6 months has been my biggest growing spurt. It's been my best and my most challenging year in so many ways and yet despite the harder times I feel so much gratitude towards every moment that has brought me to this moment right now.
I'm discovering that I'm needing less and less to be happy. Less material things, less make up, less clutter, less people. And I'm finding myself grateful for moments of quiet, moments of reflection, finding space, finding calm.
Gratitude brings us happiness - not the other way around.
Right now I'm grateful to be home, with the sound of the rain outside, with the time to be writing this, with the space to be by myself.
I'm also grateful that you have taken 2 minutes out of your day to read this :)
